Blind murder cases traced 01.01.11 to 31.10.11
1.) FIR No. 13 dated 02.02.11 U/S 302/34 IPC PS Anandpur Sahib.
This case has been registered on the statement of Ram Charan s/o Ram Lok r/o W.No. 10 Mohalla Rondiwala Shivala Anandpur Sahib that some unknown culprits had killed his son Rajesh Kumar who was sleeping in his shop, by sharp edged weapons and the motive was personal enimity. After investigations, the local Police took active action and arrested 4 accused who have confessed this crime. This case is put to coput on 28/4/11.

1. FIR No. 15 dated 06.02.11 U/S 302 IPC PS Nurpur Bedi.

                 This case has been registered on the statement of Baljit Singh r/o Jatpur PS Nurpur Bedi in which he stated that  he is running a taxi at Delhi and his brother, Baljinder Singh, is serving in the Indian Army. On the intervening night of 5/6.02.11, both of them attended the marriage function of one Kuldip Singh of the same village. Both the brothers along with their family members returned home  at about 10.00 PM, but Baljinder Singh again went back changing his clothes. At about 10.30PM Baljit Singh Called Baljinder on his phone and asked him as to when will he be back to which he replied that he would return back soon. After some time, Baljit again rang up Baljinder Singh but his M.Phone was switched off, so he went to sleep. On the next day at about 5.00 AM Baljit again tried to contact Baljinder Singh on phone but to no response. Thereafter he went out in search of Baljinder Singh. In the meantime Joginder Singh resident of the same village informed him and the village Panchyat that the dead body of Baljinder Singh was lying near the fields of Dharm Pal r/o Saini Majra. Some unknown person/ Persons had killed his brother with the sharp edged weapons. During the investigation two accused Gurmukh Singh and his wife Gurpreet Kaur r/o village Sanskour PS Nurpur Bedi have been arrested in this case. Motive behind this murder was that victim Baljinder Singh’ illicit relation with accused ‘s wife Gurpreet Kaur. The case is put in court on 23.04.11.

3)     FIR No. 104 dated 18.07.11 U/S 302201/34 IPC PS Chamkaur Sahib.
This case has been registered on the statement of Ajmer Singh s/o Kartar Singh caste S.C. r/o Vill. Dugri PS Chamkaur Sahib that Ex. Sarpanch Karnail Singh & Sandeep Singh @ Chhottu s/o Jasvir Singh both r/o Vill. Dugri PS Chamkaur Sahib has killed to Gulzar Singh s/o Kartar Singh. Motive of incident that deceased Gulzar Singh has illicit relation with the mother of accused Sandeep Singh @ Chhotu. Both accused have been arrested. The case is put to court on 12/10/11.

4)    FIR No. 72 dated 19.07.11 U/S 302,307,34 IPC PS Sdar Rupnagar.
This case has been registered on the statement of Sukhwinder Singh  s/o  Kharak Singh  Caste Jat  r/o  Gouslan  PS Sadar Rupnagar  Navdeep Singh  r/o  Magrour PS Sadar  Rupnagar has  Murder his  wife Smt. Harinder Kaur  age  about 24 year with  sharp edged weapon .Motiveof this  Murder domestic quarrel. Two accused have been arrested in this case.The case  is put to court on 13/10/11

Fake Currency recovered
2 case were registered during the above said period and  Rs.238500/- were recovered.

Burglary      
Under the head of burglary, the Distt Police Rupnagar have made recoveries as under :-
Stolen property                        = Rs. 3131683/-
Recovered property                 = Rs. 602905/-

Thefts
Under the head of theft the Distt Police Rupnagar have made recoveries as under :-

Stolen property                        = Rs. 16322918/-
Recovered property                 = Rs. 8654068/- Mane Recover 07 Truck,03 Nova Car.

 382 IPC Forcible Theft
Under the head of Forcible Theft the Distt Police Rupnagar have made recoveries as under :-
Stolen property                        = Rs. 417134 /-
Recovered property                 = Rs. 302625 /-

411 IPC
Under the head of 411 IPC the Distt Police Rupnagar have made recoveries as under :-

N.D.P.S. Act.

44 cases were registered under this head and  241 Kg 200 Gms Poppy Husk 01Kg 350 gms Opium, 83 Gms  Smack, 55930 illicit tablets, 9434 illicit capsules, 792 Drug bottles & 689 Injection  were recovered.
Excise Act
17 cases were registered under this head and 375 ml illicit liquor 1554680 ml licit liquor 417920 ml English wine were recovered.
Arms Act.
26 cases were registered under this head and 10 Pistols, 05 Revolvers,02 Rifle Gun, 16 Cartgs. and 14 knives were recovered.
Gambling Act

46 cases were registered under this head and Rs. 438930/- were recovered.               

 PO’s Arrested
43  PO’s were arrested during the period from 01.01.11 to 31.10.11.

Challans made by the traffic staff  

                     During the period under report, Police of the distt. made 8741 challan  for violation of  traffic rules and the court fined the defaulters for Rs. 34,67,00/-.

Hola Mohalla, special  event of  international fame  held at Kiratpur Sahib & sh Anandpur Sahib, the birth place of Khalasa panth from 15 to 20 March, where 10 to 15 lacs  pilgrims/devotees from all over India & abroad  were  pay homage to the  great Sikh Guru was peacefully.
